To Hell with Bowman. He chooses to leave the Wings for whatever reason
and go to another team. I said the same thing when Shanahanjob and
Flemorov and all the others left, If they don't want to be a Wing then
to Hell with them and I hope they choke on their gefilte fish.

With his health and weight problems he only has a couple years of work
left in him anyhow.

See ya roun' Bowman.

Oh and thanks for thanks for the cups

What about Zetterberg's back? He has a bum one as we all know and backs rarely get better. They may hurt less but it's still really bad to have one. I doubt I have ever seen Z stand straight up on ice. It loooks as if he may be all trussed in. Holland by getting Hossa has an insurance policy of sorts. If Z's back goes he has Hossa he can sign instead.
What Luck! Cause for me it's team first

>Doors open at 6:30pm and admission is free.
>Free parking will be available in the main lot adjacent to the arena. Use the North entrance.

That's a nice thing. To give the common folk a chance to be heard and disregarded. I'm sure everyone will say, "They did the right thing and I feel better." A good bowel movement makes one feel better too.

>The columnist from the SJ Mercury had a good description of the Sharks

All too typical uninformed journalist. They played very hard. They worked their tails off and they never lost interest. How Dallas managed to keep the Sharks from winning last night in OT's 1 and 2
(all I saw) is just bum luck and a lot of hard work from Dallas. It wasn't harder or better than what SJ was putting out.If I had to describe in a word why SJ lost. Player Overconfidence. I see it frequently. A team is up 3-0 (pick a score) they don't quit but the other team plays harder ( compared only to what they were playing before they got pissed) and if a bounce or two goes there way. It's the intangible termed momentum.

I am a fan of Chelios. I liked him when he was a Hawk. I think the sportscasters are either dumb or smart. The dumb ones don't know that he isn't playing well and can only talk about his longevity. The smart ones know his play isn't good but won't say that cause folk such as yourself won't be objective and they will be panned. So they just talk about his longevity.

Whatever his "role" is on the team as you see it I see it better. His role is to do a good job as a defense man and he isn't doing good.... he isn't average. I think this should be his last season. I hope he does better and plays next season but not like he is now

>What really grinds me - it the last three SC winners - Tampa, Canes and
>Ducks - WTF is that - who cares about hockey in those areas. Plus when was
>the last Canadian winner - Montreal? The recent history is a joke and an
>embarrassment to the sport. At least the wings have tried to save the
>original six pride with three cups recently.....

It has been a long time since the team I was pulling for won the cup. I ain't counting the Wings since I always want them to win. It isn't bad that teams from these areas win. What I find bad is even with the wins there is not much of a chance to build momentum for hockey in those towns. The league is too large for that. Even with a dozen fewer teams, for agrgument sake lets leave the Canes, Bolts and Doocks in the league, the chances of repeating as champs or drafting several star quality players is very low. That's what is needed for something to be ingrained in a local society. There is too much entertainment competition for Hockey and unless the town already has a history to be proud of I doubt it can be done today.

The Blackhawks can suck like the Wings did for 20 years and survive. The Flyers can do likewise. Don't tell me there aren't enough folk in the greater Tampa Bay or Carolina regions to support a losing team for 10 to 20 years. There is the populace but they won't go to something that they have no history with.

Great season. Not perfect just great. At the start I didn't think making the playoffs was assured but not cause of the pundits. Then they came on and wouldn't let Nashville take it. They beat the Flames.....They Beat the Sharks and voila they are in the west finals and did well. I'd a rather the Stanley Cup but what do I have to complain about? Wings gave me plenty of entertainment from Oct to May. They are my team and I am bummed they lost but guess what? I'll get over it cause my life don't focus around sports Thank God!

Seriously the Preds are a solid team. The do come up short against good teams though. You guys shouldn't feel bad about losing to the Sharks. They are a big strong experienced team and are my pick to go to the finals from the west. I thought you would handle yourselves better though.
I am a Detroit Red Wing fan. I don't think Trotz is the problem. I do think that he tried too hard to be tough in this series and didn't concentrate on playing hockey but I am too far removed to say that's a fact.
Really though, how can any team be called the Predators in this day and age?
I guess the team might move and I hope they do so the Wings can go to the eastern conference.

The Wings haven't looked that like they did on Thursday in years. It was the start no one expected except maybe the players. They have to keep it up and they need to win one in Calgary. Momentum is such an unusual beast.

No matter how ya slice it Bertuzzi isn't as ready now or Sunday as he
will be when the series moves to Calgary. I'm betting that the Wings
can do fine at home without him. Give him more time to heal. If he is
deemed ready to go for Sunday's game he will be that much more fit in a
few more days.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD...........Why didn't you take me to some hockey games when you coulda?

Luongo played better than Dom. Dom is old and thus he doesn't have the quickness necessary to stop some shots. I think his age and reflexes are a big reason the Wings don't do well in shootouts. But I haven't tabulated who's in net more for shootouts Dom or Ozzie.

If the Wings are going to compete with any team in the play-offs esp a very good team such as Vancouver they will need all their key players healthy which wasn't the case on Saturday.

Lastly the coaches need to do a better job. The Wings on the road are not a real strong team.

Sunday March 4, 2007

I can't watch that video and I can never forgive the hit but since he is a Red Wing I will overlook it but only if he does good and only while he is a Wing......Attitudes like mine are what make sports what it is today.

Fall 2006 - Shanahan

Fuck him. I hope he has a season ending injury on the first day of the season. He doesn't want to be a Wing cause he thinks we're going down. UPDATE: EX Wing Knuble cranks EX wing Shanahan or was it a dual crank. Wish it had happened on opening day.

Sunday April 30, 2006

The Wings are working real hard and scoring goals in the same fashion
they did all year and by the people that scored them all year. They
are scoring less but that's what happens during the play-offs. They
are allowing more goals BUT NOT more shots then they did all year
which means to me Legace is NOT a play-off goalie which he wasn't two
years ago. I don't like blaming people in sports but I will make an
exception here. It's no one's fault but Legace's Detroit is down in
this series.
