The Red Wings aren't winning against the good teams. This alarms me even this early in the season. They lost twice to Jersey and they stunk against the Avalanche. I'll let you know when the next big game is.

It has been along time since I added any comments. Lets see, Shanahan for Coffey. Coffey absolutely great. Anyone who knocks him has their head up their rectum, real DEEP. We got-What 3 years rental, maybe a little past his prime but so? And we got him for Jimmy Carson. Great trade. How did we get Carson? Well for that floater Klima, that runt Murphy and I guy I always liked (from the Windsor Spitfires) Adam Graves. So I guess one could say we traded Adam Graves for Brendan Shanahan and 3 years of Paul Coffey. Lets see what Shanahan does, eh? I heard Dave's replacement on PASS tonite, doesn't seem to bad, eh?

It's over for this year :-(

I want to know why the Red Wings were eliminated but I don't think anyone can fully answer that question. It is fashionable to lament that the boys let us down again but that my friends is pure BULL SHIT.

No one can say they didn't do their best, try their hardest or lacked the heart to go the distance. The Wings need to do a few things and they will win it all. #1 on my list is lose some focus. I would have sent someone out to make a player or two on Winnipeg, St. Louis and Colorado eat some lumber. Despite the play-offs hockey is still a game of intimidation. We get roughed up every series so it seems logical to show some strength.

They reason we get so tired is all those unanswered hits our defensemen take AND if you watched closely our guys gave out too many buttchecks. So get some big boys that can wail on the opposition. I don't mean beat `em up either.

Sergei Fedorov has to come up big one of these days. It is my unsubstatiated feeling that he is not to well liked on the Wings. If he was he wouldn't take the beating he does. Never once have I seen one of our tough guys stand up for Sergei.

I think Dino will be gone. I hope Fetisov stays.

If PaulCoffey doesn't score for Colorado in game one.......is the series tied 3 to 3?

Elimination

The Red Wings are winning the big games! It isn't a position we want to be in but it where were at. Regarding the 3-2 loss: 3 goals on 19 shots.....it's gonna kill us. I thought Bowman should have played Vernon tonite. But I was wrong :-)

Anders Eriksson

He played a fine game. Cynthia Lambert of the Free Press is already looking for excuses as to why the Red Wings are doing less than expected. She feels this guy and others should have been brought up and given experience during the season. When it comes to hockey; she is a good columnist. I will trust Bowman on hockey matters. I think Scotty should keep him up and not play Coffey til he is 100%.

Did you see that DUMB BROAD on sports center? Who is she? She should go back to the stenographer pool cause her insights are crap. If I hear anyone else say the Wings play without heart I don't know whether I will crap or go blind.

The Avalanche scored 4 goals on only 19 shots. Osgood is good but what is his save % in the play-offs?

Tom Mees

Tom Mees is a very bad announcer. Darren Pang is a GOOD color man. Sometimes I feel sorry for Darren because he routinely needs to correct Tom and he does it with tact. Last night Mees said the Wings had no heart but Darren said they were playing tired. The Wings always play with heart. Mees lack alot of basic knowledge. Maybe the reason hockey doesn't catch on is due to poor announcers?

The Wings are beat physically. I hope we see alot more Kirk Maltby, Martin Lapointe and yes even Stu Grimson. But I am an optimist regarding the Wings....they will still win!

The Avalanche managed only 20 shots but scored thrice.

Paul Coffey

I played hockey for many years and I even put the puck in my own net. But I have never seen anything like what Paul Coffey did. He didn't know where he was or what he was doing. I wish I knew what Scotty Bowman was thinking after that. Getting Coffey for Jimmy Carson was a great trade.

I hope Yzerman isn't hurt bad :-(

Predictions on the Red Wing / Avalanche Series:

As shown both teams can be physical but I think this will be a skating series. Whether this will confer an advantage to either team, I don't think so. Detroit has shown it can kill Patrick Roy but they have never faced him in the play-offs. The Wings have shown they give up alot of goals per shots taken ratio and you can bet the Colorado club will get more scoring chances than any team faced by the Wings thus far. The Wings have what it takes so they will win in 6.

I would like to postulate: The Wings will have a tough time winning the cup if they don't decrease the number of goals they give up relative to the number of shots they allow.

What ever became of Gerrad Gallant?

I watched Philly and Tampa the other night. Man they were vicious. Some one will get killed in this game before the brutal stickwork ends. Gimme a fight, a hard legal check but Man I am tired of seeing guys get beaten with sticks. Ask Gary Roberts if you don't agree.

Getting Igor Larionov was the best trade the Wings have made in my memory.

Who remembers why the Wings got Torrie Robertson?
